Matthew Monks-Southwell
Physical Education Teacher
My name is Matthew Monks-Southwell and this is my second year teaching here at St.Teresa. I am very blessed to have the opportunity to teach here again. Last year I taught Grade 5 and this year I am teaching Grade 3.
This is my 5th year teaching and I have had the opportunity to teach in several different schools in Red Deer as well as spending two years teaching abroad in London, England. I love to travel the world, especially when I can mix in my passion for teaching with it.
I am happily married to my wife who is also a teacher. We have a puppy named Swift and we have a baby on the way - coming January 2021!! Outside of school, we enjoy the outdoors! We love to go snowboarding and spend as much time in the mountains as possible! Our all time favourite is Whitefish in Montana.
I love to teach and I am so excited for the 2020-2021 school year!!
