Principal's Message

Welcome to another exciting new school year at St. Teresa of Avila School. I am thrilled to be entering my fourth year as the principal of this amazing school community.

On behalf of our staff I am thrilled to welcome you back, especially to a year that feels more normal than the past two have! This year our division faith theme is, “Inspired by Christ on a journey to encounter, nurture and serve.” This is a beautiful and fitting theme for all of us as we are reminded that our journey together is inspired by Christ and we are inspired to find opportunities to encounter Him together.

Our school is blessed with a caring, talented staff who are committed to creating opportunities for students to share their wonderful gifts. Included in our community is our parish, Sacred Heart. Under the guidance and leadership of our parish priest, Fr. Jan, the students will have the opportunity to grow and learn about our faith through the sacraments and our daily prayer life. Together we can provide our children a quality Catholic education and bring promise to this year’s division’s theme:  Inspired by Christ on a journey to encounter, nurture and serve.

As always we are grateful for the support from our parents. We encourage you to continue to attend our monthly School Advisory Council Meetings where you will learn more about our school, the events that are happening during the school year as well as build a strong connection with other parents.

Dear Lord, as we begin this new school year,
we gather once again as your community of believers.

We thank you for the energy and the spirit
that you renewed in us through the summer months.

We thank you for the time to enjoy our family and
friends and to reflect on what is important in our lives.

Let this year be marked by enthusiasm and love
so that,
with the inspiration of your Spirit, we may continue to grow in our faith.

Help us to fulfill Your hope for us with honest intentions and works of faith.

Let us be gentle with ourselves and bring laughter, joy and love to others.

We ask this in your name. Amen.

God Bless,
       Mrs. N. Zimmerman
